The Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs provides executive direction and coordination of Cabinet legislative priorities. The Office is responsible for proactively pursuing the policy goals of the Administration and the Cabinet by working with members of the General Assembly and the staff of the Legislative Research Commission. The staff carefully monitors ongoing legislative activities and initiatives that affect the Cabinet and its mission.
The staff is responsible for developing legislative strategy, coordinating testimony of Cabinet officials, and responding to Legislative Research Commission requests for documents, technical assistance, and other information.
In addition, the Office acts as a liaison for the Cabinet with other state and federal government agencies; and quasi-governmental organizations.
