CAPTAIN OF THE PORT OHIO VALLEY HAS ISSUED A
SAFETY ADVISORY FOR THE BROADWAY BRIDGE DEMOLITION ON THE KENTUCKY RIVER MILE
MARKER 65.5 FROM AUGUST 3 TO AUGUST 9, 7AM TO 7PM EVERY DAY. DEMOLITION WORK
AND A WORKING FLEET WILL BE POSITIONED AROUND PIER 5. TRANSITTING VESSELS MUST
COMMUNICATE WITH M/V EMMY LOU ON CHANNEL 68 FOR PASSING INSTRUCTIONS AND URGE
CAUTION WHEN TRANSITTING THE AREA..
Kentucky River Lock #4 will open on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10:00 am. We will only operate Lock #4 in Frankfort at this time. Please see the 2025 Lock Schedule below. The locking hours are Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10:00 am until 7:15 pm.
Kentucky River Locks #1, #2 and #3 will be closed until further notice as we continue to replace equipment and make repairs.
The Kentucky River Authority announces its 2024-2026 watershed grants to local non-profits who are helping us improve water quality throughout the Kentucky River Basin. A total of $35,000 was awarded to eight recipients who will be working on local initiatives.
