The Division of Engineering and Contract Administration administers the capital construction program for the Commonwealth. The division provides technical engineering assistance to state agencies, reviews design and detail specifications and acts as a liaison between the Department for Facilities and Support Services and other agencies on new construction projects and major maintenance projects. The Division also advertises and awards contracts for capital construction projects and other construction services for all state agencies, excluding roads and bridges. Procurements include new buildings, renovation of existing buildings, reclamation and landscaping of grounds, major repairs, service/maintenance contracts for equipment of all types, and construction-related consulting services, including architect/engineer services. The division monitors the construction and maintenance contracts to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
