Office of Financial Management

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Office of Financial Management has administrative responsibility for the investment and debt management functions of the Commonwealth. Through the authority of the State Investment Commission, the office manages many investments for the state and its agencies. The office also approves and provides oversight for the state's bond sales, which provide financing for major projects, purchases, and improvements.

Additionally, the Office of Financial Management manages short-term investments for the Commonwealth and its agencies pursuant to KRS 42.500 under th​e direction of the State Investment Commission. The Office of Financial Management also manages appropriation-supported debt as well as other debt issued in the name of the Commonwealth.
