Under the leadership of Secretary Holly M. Johnson and Deputy Secretary Geri Grigsby, the Finance and Administration Cabinet has helped build eight high-ground communities for flood survivors in Eastern Kentucky, launched the first full renovation of the Kentucky State Capitol and the Kentucky Exposition Center in more than 70 years, and supported the Beshear administration as it secured seven consecutive budget surpluses, three credit rating increases, $54 billion in private sector investment, and 71,000 new jobs.
Our Cabinet has built transformative new state properties impacting thousands of Kentuckians, including the Boone National Guard Center, the Jody Cash Multipurpose Training Center, and the Robert E. Spiller Bowling Green Veterans Center. Our team has also completed major modernization projects for state government services, including the award-winning transition to the Department of Revenue Integrated System (DORIS) and MyTaxes Portal, as well as upgrades to the eMARS accounting system.
The Finance and Administration Cabinet has also advanced the Commonwealth's technological achievements. In 2024, Kentucky became the first state in the nation to capture aerial photography of its entire geography, assisting with disaster and emergency response as well as economic development. Additionally, the Commonwealth Office of Technology implemented a Zero Trust Initiative to improve data security and the Department for Facilities and Support Services has optimized energy and cost-savings across state-owned buildings through the Commonwealth Energy Management and Control System.
While securing major wins for Kentucky families, our Cabinet has also expanded professional development opportunities for its dedicated team, establishing a Mentoring Program and encouraging eligible staff to apply for the Governor's Leadership Program and other learning and advancement opportunities.
