Attention Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Owners:
We just recently learned that some of our MWBE/SDVOSB certified businesses have received an email from a sender pretending to be from our office. The email has a subject line similar to, “Commonwealth of Kentucky Minority and Women Business Enterprise Certification Program,” and has a link to a “docusign” document. This email is not coming from any representative in our office and we are NOT requesting that you sign any type of form.
If you receive such an email, PLEASE DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK as this will take you to a site that is not associated with our office.
Also, we encourage you to look at the email address of the sender. Any email from our office in Frankfort will have the person’s name and ends with “@ky.gov “ (i.e. John.Doe@ky.gov).
Welcome to Kentucky’s Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Certification Program
The newly created Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Certification Program supports service-disabled military veterans who own a business and live in Kentucky. It is designed to promote growth among SDVOSBs and encourage these businesses to locate and expand in the Commonwealth. This certification program will also allow service-disabled veteran-owned businesses to compete for work in other states that require certification by a statewide body. Kentucky’s Small Business Connection Portal is an excellent resource that you can access to learn about new opportunities for your business.
As a businessman and governor, one of my administration’s key objectives is to promote a robust economic climate in Kentucky. As a military veteran, I am humbled to support other veterans in their entrepreneurial endeavors, especially through the SDVOSB Certification Program.
I commend you for your interest in this important program and encourage you to apply. We have staff members who are ready and eager to assist you through the process. The Kentucky Department of Veteran Affairs is also available if you are in need of other veteran related services. Please visit their website at veterans.ky.gov.
