The Office of the Controller is responsible for all state accounting policies and procedures, cash management and strategic financial planning. The Controller acts as the commonwealth’s chief accounting officer.
The office maintains internal accounting controls, operates the accounting system and reports the results of financial operations to management and to the public. The office works closely with others to coordinate the program, budget, and cost management components of the state’s long-range business planning process.
The Office of the Controller consists of the following divisions and offices:
Division of State Risk and Insurance Services
Office of Policy and Audit (Now a part of the Finance and Administration Office of the Secretary)
