Board of Licensure for Massage Therapy

The purpose of the Kentucky Board of Massage Therapy is to administer and enforce the statutory authority and to monitor the needs of the consuming public. The Board examines and licenses all eligible candidates for entry into the profession as a Massage Therapist. It recommends appropriate changes in the law to assure fairness and equality. The Board conducts formal hearings when necessary and prosecutes by due process any violators of KRS 309.350 to 309.364.

License renewals can not be processed online or by mail until 60 days prior to the expiration date. Thank you.

Please be aware that it is your responsibility to keep the board notified of any address or name changes.  Failure to do so may result in delays in the licensing process.

Meeting Dates for 2008

Unless otherwise noted, all Board meetings are held at the Division of Occupations and Professions, 911 Leawood Drive, Frankfort, KY, at 9:00 a.m., Eastern Standard Time, immediately following the 8:30 committee meeting.  Individuals wishing to speak at the board meeting must submit a written request to the board office at PO Box 1360, Frankfort, KY 40602 no later than 10 days prior to the meeting in order to be placed on the agenda.

Approved CEUs

Practice of massage therapy applies only to the human body, therefore, no CEU credits will be given for courses taken for any type of “animal massage.”
