The purpose of the Board of Dietitians and Nutritionists is to administer and enforce the statutory authority and to monitor the needs of the consuming public. The Board licenses all eligible candidates for entry into the profession of Dietetics and Nutrition. It recommends appropriate changes in the law to assure fairness and equality. The Board conducts formal hearings when necessary and prosecutes by due process any violators of KRS 310.
SB 158 was passed by the General Assembly and signed into law during 2008. This legislation relates to retired or inactive status and voluntary relinquishment of a license or certificate. The Board will promulgate the Kentucky Administrative Regulation (KAR) to establish conditions for granting retired or inactive status, to establish procedures to permit a licensee or certificate holder to voluntarily relinquish a license or certificate, and to establish conditions to reinstate a voluntarily relinquished license or certificate. Requests pertaining to this legislation will not be processed by the Board until the KAR is implemented.
Please be aware that it is your responsibility to keep the board notified of any address or name changes. Failure to do so may result in delays in the licensing process.
